Last year we managed to accomplish all our development goals and some, and this year we have some amazing new features planned that I’ve wanted in Neetrix for years. Even today tools like Neetrix Automate are getting continually improved based on the amazing positive feedback from those that have discovered how powerful they are. This will continue throughout the year as people keep using them in ways we haven’t even realised.</p><p> We have many new features planned throughout Neetrix, however, the two main areas of focus this year are with collaboration and productive project management.</p><p> Let’s start with collaboration. In Neetrix already, the whole system is about the sharing of data within and across teams, and with tools like instant chat and the new Work Boards, there is a more direct collaboration in both communication and the team effort in business processes. These have had such a huge impact with a lot of our customers, that we are now planning on doing much more.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="/content/blogpost/7e6a35c0-9d8f-41ba-95f3-00c8003bce7e/Collaboration.png" alt="Collaboration.png" style="width: 518px;"></p><p> One of the most distinctive new features will be Discussions where we want to bring entire teams into sharing information, problem solving and decision making into the same places that you all already run and manage your business processes and data.</p><p> Being able to converse in a structured way around the different items of your business is an extremely useful feature to provide a better service to your staff, track actions and decisions and provide real time collaboration even with teams a world apart. So, whether the discussion is about a customer or supplier, an invoice, a job or expense, you can start and find conversations within the very item that is being talked about.</p><p> This is a key step for me personally towards a time where I really want to reduce or even to complete remove the need for email within the work place.</p><p> The other distinctive new feature around collaboration will be Portals. We already provide the ability to store and manage a lot of information about customers and suppliers for your business, Portals will allow you to provide access to this information to your customers and suppliers via a portal that they can log into. What they see and what they can do will be up to you, and we hope to employ the Discussions system to allow you to expand the employee collaborations with your external contacts.</p><p> This is a huge leap for many businesses that should open a whole set of new opportunities for better relationships between staff, customers and suppliers. I cannot wait to see what our Neetrix users do with these.</p><p style="text-align: center;"> <img src="/content/blogpost/7e6a35c0-9d8f-41ba-95f3-00c8003bce7e/Project Management.png" alt="Project Management.png" style="width: 465px;"></p><p> Next is Project management. Whilst we have done so much for product based businesses and for all businesses in general over the last few years, our service clients are due a huge boost. Neetrix Jobs has been a great way for people to keep track of client projects whilst being deeply integrated into the Contacts and Accounting areas. This has made it a very popular feature, but we have always wanted to do a lot more within Jobs whilst getting it even more integrated with the rest of Neetrix.</p><p> We’ve taken our time to really get to know our clients over the years and to make sure that we always provide the best, simplest solution to real world issues businesses face. Dealing with project planning and resource management has been a hugely complicated task for many clients, and is the largest barrier for growth because of the quantity of effort and user management they require.</p><p> We are aiming on adding an extremely capable project management and resource management system in Neetrix this year. It’s hugely ambitious in size, but it’s clearly what businesses need. There are a few project management systems available but they are not fit for slightly more complicated projects, have no good integration with the rest of the business, often lack collaboration, and are neither easy or affordable for growing businesses to use. It’s also clear that there is a need for smarter, separate resource management too. We are planning to change this!</p><h3>There is more!</h3><p>This isn't everything, just two key developments for this year, there is even more planned in the pipeline including a new version of SiteFront and a way for everyone to create and manage their own bespoke data sets. Shall I explain?</p> <p> If you use Neetrix to run one business then you are unlikely to notice any differences; don&rsquo;t get me wrong using Neetrix for your business is great and we are really glad that we can help you. If there is anything (whatever it is, and however small it is) that we can do to make Neetrix work better for you please let us know! However if you use Neetrix to power multiple businesses, or perhaps you consult for more than one business; you have likely come across one limitation. You couldn&rsquo;t access more than one company at a time on the Neetrix platform until now!</p> <p> For example if you opened up your Printing Company&rsquo;s accounting screen and then opened another browser tab for the stock screen of your Wedding Stationery Company things would go a little wonky. The problem is that the Neetrix system couldn&#39;t be sure which company you wanted to look at; was it the one you had open first, or the one you looked at last?</p> <p> So at the request of our users we have added the ability for every company to have their very own &ldquo;administration address&rdquo;. This is like a subsection of Neetrix for each of your companies; this not only means that you can have multiple companies open at once in your browser tabs, you can also bookmark areas of Neetrix for specific companies! Here is an example:</p> <p> <span style="color: rgb(178, 34, 34);">Alice and Bob run two companies; their Pie Shop in the center of town (Alice and Bob&rsquo;s Cottage Pie Shop), and their wholesale business (Pies R Us). Alice is the brains of the outfit she is great with the pies, and great with the computer; Bob on the other hand.... well lets not go there. They use Neetrix to run the businesses, unfortunately Bob get&rsquo;s a bit confused between the two companies and often sends invoices for big pie deliveries from the wrong businesses. To make things even easier they can now bookmark their most used sections of Neetrix for each company. So rather than having to login to Neetrix and navigate to the section they need after selecting the company; they can just click a bookmark, login and they are there!</span></p> <p> Back to the upgrade, along with the &ldquo;administration addresses&rdquo; this upgrade has allowed us to include some more subtle feature, for example: Your previous searches are now company specific rather than being across your entire Neetrix account.</p> <p> To sum it up, this upgrade to Neetrix is for people that have more than one business or consult for more than one business. Previously you were able to search your product list by name, some of our customer reported back saying that this could be made better. So we listened and upgraded the search system to include more and more of the fields you use to define your products.</div> <div> &nbsp;</div> <div> Not every product can be described with a few words; for example a &lsquo;Laptop Bag&rsquo; isn&rsquo;t just a bag. Perhaps you stock three different sizes; 13&rdquo;, 15&rdquo; and 17&rdquo;. Then there are the colours to think about; red, black, blue, grey, purple, polka-dot. You might even have shoulder straps verses backpack. Already there are 36 different products, and to add to the confusion you also stock other types of bag!</div> <div> &nbsp;</div> <div> You can now search your products with more filters, and when they are added to invoices more detail is now available. Your business is your baby and you probably spend more time on it than your spouse and other children would like. But you do this because you enjoy what you do, and you want to put every effort into it to become a huge success.</p> <p> However, sometimes you just need to get time away, and with the summer coming up, it is the time of the year to start thinking about a well deserved holiday.</p> <p> To some business owners, the word &quot;holiday&quot; sounds much more of a nightmare than a pleasant break. Some go years without a holiday, and you have to ask yourself, why work so hard if you can&#39;t earn yourself a little time-out.</p> <p> One of the key reasons business owners don&#39;t like going on holiday is because their businesses are left behind. This might not be problem for most businesses, but the anxiety of not knowing what is going on back in the office can leave very little time to switch off and actually relax around a pool. I&#39;m not saying that as a business owner we want to do work whilst on holiday, but being able to rest the mind knowing that everything is going to plan back home, that the office isn&#39;t on fire, and that after the holiday you won&#39;t be coming back&nbsp;to an overblown inbox would mean you could at least clear your mind of worry and doubt and focus on the family and holiday.</p> <p> In the traditional way that businesses run, I&#39;m really not surprised owners are nothing but stressful on holiday. There is no communication back with the business other than perhaps your email and the faith that your team isn&#39;t missing anything important. After all, no one knows your business like you do.</p> <p> I try and go on holiday once a year, and the last time I went I had the most relaxing break in my entire 15 year career as a business owner. At the same time, I didn&#39;t do any work that would disrupt the holiday. How did I do this? Well, it took just two elements. Time management and the right tools. Firstly I realised that between the day of activities or relaxation and dinner, there was a moment when you end up being back in the bedroom getting washed and changed for the evening. In that time the rest of the family is doing the same, and it becomes the most productive and non-disruptive&nbsp;time to do 30 minutes of work. I say &quot;work&quot;, but what I really mean is to respond to any urgent emails and check on the progress of the team and the business as a whole.</p> <p> Having Neetrix as my tool, I can access my entire business in real-time over the internet. This means I can quickly see what the team has been up to, what new business has come in, the progress of jobs and the ability to (even with large time zone differences) communicate back to the teams about what needs to be done, of which I can check again the following evening.&nbsp;So this means that spending just 30 minutes or less in the day, at a time that would otherwise be lost, you can go through the rest of the evening and the following day knowing that everything was steaming ahead as it should at home, and that anything that needs to be done is being handled. This reporting feature has improved Neetrix capability to create complex filters that you can use to identify key contacts for your campaigns or your potential renewable leads.</p> <p> An example of such a contact filter would be filtering everyone from a certain postcode that has been in a particular contact group for a number of days and have a certain status but, because we have complete accounting integration too, can also filter out who did not purchase anything in the last 6 months.</p> <p> The advanced filtering options can offer more fine-grained control over which customers to target for a specific marketing campaign. By filtering customers who have or have not purchased a specific product, or product group, during a specific period you can have additional control not just over your customers&rsquo; purchasing patterns, but also on how to act on the data you have gathered.</p> <p> The Contact Filter addresses the need for businesses to target customers based on specific information. Your customers&rsquo; behaviour can be captured and used to better market your products. The new feature can help you segment the groups not just by choosing certain persons, but by including information on how interested they are in your products, or what they are interested in. The new integrated filter in the easy to use Neetrix interface brings together not just demographics but also psychographics.</p> <p> For your business to grow, your marketing efforts need to rely on solid data.
